Hellenic Coast Guard gets 10 new Rafnar 1100

Rafnar Maritime is proud to announce that the Hellenic Coast Guard (Greek) and the Union of Greek Shipowners have signed an agreement for ten custom-made Rafnar 1100 boats (RIBS). The boats are to be used for border control and to improve the search and rescue operation around Greece and the Greek Islands. The boats hull (ÖK-Hull) is the design of Mr. Össur Kristinsson and will be built by Rafnar Hellas in Athens, Greece.
The new custom-made boats will be the most powerful Rafnar 1100 to date, equipped with 2×450 HP Mercury engines with a top speed of 50+ kn and Level 3 NATO anti-ballistic protection. The ÖK Hull´s renowned sea-keeping abilities dramatically reduces slamming and will protect the boat crews and equipment in the rough seas around Greece.
Rafnar 1100 is already used among others by the Icelandic Coast Guard and search and rescue services. The Rafnar Maritime team welcomes the Hellenic Coast Guard into the growing group of satisfied users of the ÖK HULL.
