Last night a fishing-vessel from Greenland stranded on the Reykjanes Peninsula. An area not known for its good weather, as always Icelandic crews responded quickly. The rescue involved on-shore teams, a helicopter, the ICGV Freyja, alongide the sRafnar vessels Sjöfn, Stefnir and Óðinn. With nineteen onboard the fishing-vessel, the operation went well and we are happy to say that the ship itself is now in Hafnarfjörður harbour. Well trained seafarers and moderate weather for this time of year, resulted in this seven hour operation being a total success.
Greenland and Iceland, these two island nations share their oceans and the incredible people working to keep them safe. All is well that ends well, and we want to wish the crew and rescuers all the best.
