Early this week a sailboat ran aground on a small island close to Reykjavik with 18 individuals on board. The Icelandic Search and Rescue were called and quickly arrived on the scene, thankfully the captain of the stranded boat managed to free the vessel without any damage to its steering system or hull.
The three boats that took part in this operation included the Rafnar 1100 and Rafnar 850 from two of Iceland´s SAR teams. They then proceeded to escort the vessel safely to Reykjavik harbour.
We are always proud to see our boats excelling in what they were made and designed to do. First and foremost, we want to give a shout out to Iceland´s SAR teams, this has been an extraordinarily rough winter and they have made us Icelanders proud.
